Report: French delivery truck with 6,000 copies of Modern Warfare 3… HIJACKED.

Now, getting from point A to point B while having a ton of games in your backpack isn’t that safe at all. As it was reported earlier:

“A delivery truck in Créteil, France carrying 6,000 copies of Modern Warfare 3 was hijacked and stolen on Saturday by two masked people, French news outlets TFI and Ultimate PS3 reported. The truck crashed with a car, and when the truck’s drivers exited, two people in masks tear-gassed them before taking off with the games, TFI said. The shipment was reported to be worth 400,000 euros ($551,000).”

If you live in Créteil, France and happen to see two people diving in a pool filled with MW3 copies, you may want to contact the authorities. You know, in jail there is no such thing as a Modern Warfare, it’s called … well not like this that’s for sure xD

LoL: Dominion. First Impression

Yesterday I was lucky enough to play the new League of Legends Dominion mode. First of all League is a DotA type game, we’ll it’s similar to DotA but has it’s own unique mechanics like the leveling system, mastery branches, summoner spells etc. League has a big variety of champions with unique spells and spell animations.

OK, closer to the topic. When Dominion mode was announced I was very exited, I’m the type of person who loves the new and shiny things, and Dominion was something pretty unexpected. When I heard the news that the Dominion label was registered I though “Oh yeah, I know what’s coming! A Magma chamber”. We’ll I was wrong, although, I would like to see several new maps for the League. I’ve been playing it for a 1.5 years (or may be more) and yet this is the first new map (won’t take Twisted Treeline in account, you could always play it in a custom game, and they they released it to the mass as the one of the classic mode games). So if we take a close look on the world map, and yes there is a world map, there are like 14 clickable zones on the map (except the Ionia and the Blue Flame Island zones). Riot really expects us to play this game for 20 years in the time of the technical innovations? OK, I’m exaggerating, they sure have a marketing/business strategy planned, but nevertheless in my opinion they should do more of this stuff so that players can choose. I can agree that making maps, coding everything is a painful job.

And again I’m off the topic.

Dominion is a point control map. As you control the most points the closer you are to victory. Have in mind that this mode is a plain PvP mode. On the summoners rift you get those 3 phases (laning / jungling phase (also called early game), mid game, and late game). Here you start as LvL 3, get a ton of gold (something like ~1500) and then you go and faceroll everything you see. It’s like the adrenaline rush will never stop, those were the best 10 minutes I’ve experienced in the League and you don’t have to spend from 40 minutes up to an hour like you do in a classic 5v5.

Final verdict:

AWESOME

This is a mode of constant mind blowing skirmishes which won’t let you rest for a second. Start it, Play it, Love it.

Blacky, don’t cry

Several days ago I’ve started watching a pretty good anime – Ao no Exorcist, and eventually somewhere around the 12-14 ep. I came across this demon-cat. Now I can’t sleep, “I want to hug all of them, but I can’t hug every cat”

DOTA 2 [First Impression]

WHY, WHY and again WHY? Those are my three questions to the once who thought that releasing “THIS” (and by “this” I mean DOTA 2) would be a good idea.

Early in the past I’ve been playing DotA for a long time, it was a great game, then I realised that it can’t go further from the borders of Warcraft III, and started doing something else.

After several years I’ve managed to get my hands on the brand new League of Legends, and i though “Why not? What am i loosing?”. The answer was nothing (besides hours that I could spend in a real life). We will get to that later…

So, after long years of waiting we finally get DotA 2. And there we go, after several minutes of waiting for the stream we get the picture! My first thoughts were: “Oh my the world looks great!”. But before that I knew that the old champs from DotA would not be remade (I mean in general), altough I don’t have the issue with that. And I totally agree with Aelonius that they couldn’t bring it to a whole new level. See, the point is that we all know how is original DotA, how it’s played etc. Who tought that it would be a good idea making a game for a narrow range of people that are interested in this game? It’s just a remake of DotA and that’s all.

On the market there are other good games, on one side we have League of Legends, on the other we have Heroes of Newerth. Let’s take League of Legends (LoL) for example. It’s a great DotA clone game. It has a leveling system, mastery trees (like in WoW), summoner skills and rune pages which can enchant a centrain champion according to your playstyle.

Another flaw is the time spent playing the game. The first game from the tournament was played for almost 2 HOURS! Two hours, isn’t that too much? This game will consume all of your free time, and what for? for a victory? that’s all? meh… At least in League you have a goal.

Let’s make a conclusion:

Besides the world, which is trully awesome, ingame spectating and the spirit of the old DotA.  I feel the game is kinda unfinished, just a remake, a simple replacement to the DotA, nothing innovative. And that’s pretty sad…
